    The Shrew

Tuesday, October 20, 2009, 08:19 AM PST [General]

Our Lady, Leslie Engle, founder and soul of Shrewsbury Renaissance Faire, passed on to the Summerlands on Friday, October 16th.

We miss her.  She leaves her Faire in good hands.  Adrian the Young Prince must now take the heavy weight and bear up as best he can, with the help of his councilors and liege-men.

I am bereft, the Champion who out lived his Lady.

SHREWSBURY RENAISSANCE FAIRE - the aftermath

Friday, September 25, 2009, 07:58 AM PST [General]

So, it is over.  Everything put away (crammed into corners in the garage), dirt finally flushed out of the nose, thumping headache from the faire crud diminishing.  I did get my picture taken with my painted up armor, but unfortunately, not by my own people!  I have to wait until our next guild meeting for it, we are going to FINALLY get our official guild photo taken with EVERYONE in garb!

It was a very good faire, traffic was a little light on Saturday, Sunday was very well.  The weather both days was good, but the darn weather service kept telling everyone it was going to rain on Saturday.

The kniggits did their thing, the Nobles and peasants were very Noble and Peasantish, the mead was good in the evening - what more can one aske for?

    Huzzah!

A thousand pardons goodly sir! I could I have made such a grave error and not distinguish me betwixt a German from a Scotsman! 'Tis the heat man, it doth befuddle the brain and vex the eyes!

Forsooth, shall I indeed post thee thy protrait upon such means at my disposal for thy pleasure anon.

'Twas a goodly faire indeed, and do I long for its soon return.

There and back again for another year with memories to hold firmly close until such time as Shrewsbury again openeth its gates to one and all for grand sport and much merriment. The Farire hath ended; the Faire wilt come again; long live the Faire!

Ach, weel - it seems that more folk that just I are feeling some stress with the new President's most liberal views - you just can't find even .22 ammo without purchasing in advance, and then you must be there when the delivery arrives in order to get your ammo! The good news, people are starting to wake up to the "we must rush everything I want through right NOW before everyone dies" message he keeps pushing.

MY President is still Mr. Reagan, my first and best Commander in Chief.
